Optical 4 a better cause has donated 125 pairs to The Bronx Science K-Hope.
The Bronx Science K-Hope Organization was first created when Bronx Science Korean students Sydney Lee, Archer Yanggeenaleenyc@gmail.com, Nicholas Kim, Emily Kim, and Connor Chun took the initiative in empowering the Korean American community.
A major success we had was when a relief drive began in our school to alleviate the social and economic social crises in Puerto Rico as a result of Hurricane Fiona. Us students, wanting to help our community and Puerto Rico, reached out to Korean American businesses. Fortunately, all businesses with good grace donated a plethora of necessities and our original path took a turn for the better.
Our activism had reached the ears of the Salvation Army and NYC DOE. They expressed that they would be willing to help us reach and help a larger diverse group of people. Beyond this, we have created many more opportunities to make an impact. Through our involvement, we have been able to encounter first hand how connected and passionate the Korean American community is in helping others.
This fulfilling experience has given us all the agency to use our platform to continue empowering the Korean American community by demonstrating our dedication in helping others.
[ Special thanks to Sydney Lee for organizing the donations ]
Optical 4 a Better Cause, We're collecting prescription glasses, reading glasses and sunglasses from our community. We donate them, to benefit people all around the world.
