We're Optical 4 a Better Cause. We collect prescription glasses, reading glasses and sunglasses from our community. We donate them to benefit people all around the world.

Started by brothers, Archer and Hunter, based in Manhattan -  Optical 4 a Better Cause has donated over 1,354 pairs of used eyewear! Optical 4 a Better Cause was started during the spring of 2021, because Archer and Hunter realized that they went through a pair of glasses each year. While thinking of a way to make glasses wearing more sustainable, they came up with the idea of not only donating them to underprivileged communities, but also to collect donations and start a system. This system grew, and a slow trickle of glasses turned to dozens. The number grew and grew, and Archer and Hunter, then decided to take Optical 4 a Better Cause to the next level. ​

Sight is a right. We believe everyone should have access to glasses, one pair at a time. We are collecting used glasses to redistribute to people who need them.

Since we started collecting & donating in 2021, we have been working to provide donated eyewear to those in need. We recently reached an amazing milestone of our first 1,000 pairs collected on 10/1/22. Our total number of glasses collected as of today reached 1,065 pairs and the tally is growing every day!
